Welcome to our monthly guide to the night sky! We are posting a monthly list of astronomical activities to keep an eye out for in the night sky.
Friday 5th May – Full moon at 6.34 am.
Saturday/Sunday 13th/14th May – In the early morning the crescent Moon will pass below Saturn.
Wednesday 17th May – In the morning sky Jupiter will appear close to the crescent Moon.
Friday 19th May – New Moon at 4.53 pm.
Night of 22nd/23rd May – Thin crescent Moon will be seen to the lower right of Venus, with Mars visible to the left.
Wednesday 24th May – Mars now below the crescent Moon with Venus to the lower right.
